Freedom Z is a German-bred Hanoverian stallion of the famous Furioso II line. He was
licensed in 1989 and approved in 1990 at the stallion testing in Adelheidsdorf. Freedom Z
received an impressive 122.50 in rideability and 105.17 in jumping. His overall score was
118.62. In Germany, Freedom Z was ridden in dressage exhibitions and started competing
at Intermediate level shows. In the US, Freedom Z has gone Grand Prix and placed in 7
Grand Prix jumping competitions in 1998.

Freedom Z has offspring in Europe now reaching competition age
and are already excelling. His 1993 stallion son, Liberty was approved for breeding
in Switzerland and stood at the Swiss National Stud, and he is now standing in Holland.
Platini VDL, sired by Freedom Z was the winner of the 100 day stallion testing held at
Munster-Handorf in Germany August of 2000. Platini VDL scored , total index of 127,74,
with a dressage index of 125,06 and a jumping index. 122,36. Freedom Z's first US-born
foals are impressive.
Lineage
Freedom Z boasts many internationally known jumper lines both on both the
sire and dam lines. He is an approved son of Furioso II, who is considered one of the
most influential sport horse sires in the world. Furioso II, in 1989, was the top sire
in Germany based on money earned by his get. His bloodlines can be found in almost all
recognized International studbooks in Europe. Offspring of Furioso II include:
For Pleasure - a member of the Gold-Medal winning German show jumping team in the1996 Atlanta
Olympics, and named German horse of the year in 1995.
Purioso - a leading sire in the Netherlands, Sire of Olympic Cocktail, Olympic Wendela and
Olympic Ambush, and of course our own Freedom Z.
Freedom's dam Roxan Z is a full sister to Luger Beerbaun's famous show jumper mare Ratina
Z, a gold and silver medal winner at the Olympics in Barcelona, and Volvo World Cup finals
winner in 1993. Roxan Z, still and active broodmare at Zangersheide stud in Belgium is sired
by the world famous sire Ramiro Z who was an international show jumper and one of the world's
most influential German sires. Ramiro Z has sired many approved stallions, show jumpers, and
internationally dressage horses. Approved stallion sons of Ramiro Z include: Elmero, Zeolite,
Damiro and Almiro. We also see another influential world class sire of jumpers in this pedigree.
